Within 10-15 minutes, you get a clear visual result, allowing you to plan appropriate care and feeding in time. What is relaxin and when do you test? Relaxin increases during gestation and is usually detectable from about day 21-28 after mating. If you test earlier and the result is negative, repeat the test after 7-10 days. Keep in mind that very early resorptions or singleton gestation can affect values. How does the test work? The test measures relaxin in a small blood sample (serum/plasma or whole blood – see package insert). Apply the sample in the provided buffer to the test cassette and read the result after 10-15 minutes. The test requires no laboratory equipment and is quick and easy to perform.
