It is the natural seaweed used to extract carrageenan (E-407), a vegan thickening agent found in products like toothpaste and soft ice cream. Carrageenan is also valued by brewers for its clarifying properties. All seaweed is hand-picked, allowing new shoots to grow and regenerate, which supports the marine ecosystem. Seaweed helps purify water and absorbs CO₂ like land plants – making it a carbon-neutral resource. Instructions for use and precautions: Commonly used as a natural thickening agent. Soak in 2% saltwater to rehydrate to a near-fresh texture. Can also be enjoyed as seaweed chips when dried. The salt content is due to naturally occurring sodium in the product.
