Course dates are July 31st, and 1st and 2nd of AugustWe are very excited to offer this unique 3-day desk lamp-making course.David has designed and successfully been making and selling these beautiful desk lamps, all made from timber, for a couple of years, and is now offering this opportunity for you to come along and make your own.As aspects of making are covered with some exciting techniques like gun drilling. This course is not suitable for complete beginners so the attendees should have at least 1 year of turning experience or have attended a 2-day course previously.David has had a lifelong love of woodwork, and following a career in motor racing, he became a teacher of Maths and Design Technology in 2006. For the past ten years, he has been teaching woodturning as a Wattywoodturner in West Sussex. David is an accredited tutor with the AWGB. He is excited to be offering courses for beginners at Hope Woodturning in 2026.Tariff: £390 per person. 3 people max.All timber and tools supplied.The amount paid online is a deposit and will be deducted from the invoice total.David will make contact a few days before the course starts.The total is to be paid directly to David just before or on arrival.  If you can’t make the course booked, we are happy to move it to another date within 5 days of the course running.CLICK HERE FOR JOINING INSTRUCTIONSDonald *****Just completed this course over the weekend. I’ve only been woodturning for 18 months or so and was a bit apprehensive about doing this! However, David led us carefully through the various steps necessary and I completed a beautiful angle poise lamp. I picked up many new skills along the way and the whole thing was totally absorbing. This was quite a demanding course with huge attention to detail required. Great fun, great value and a fabulous lamp to take home.
