DescriptionHope Woodturning Courses with Stewart FuriniStewart has been demonstrating and teaching woodturning and embellishing techniques for nearly ten years. He is an accredited AWGB woodturning tutor and is on the Register of Professional Turners. He has demonstrated extensively in the UK at clubs and national turning events, and internationally in Europe and the United States. You can follow him online at his YouTube channel.Tariff: £250 per person for a 2-day course.  All timber and tools supplied. The amount paid online is a deposit and will be deducted from the invoice total. Stewart will make contact a few days before the course starts. The total is to be paid directly to Stewart just before or on arrival.  If you can’t make the course booked, we are happy to move it to another date within 5 days of the course running.Two Day Colouring and Texturing for Intermediate TurnersDescriptionStewart’s colouring and texturing classes are ideal for intermediate turners looking to add embellishment to their woodturning. Book for both days at a discounted price, or pick either the colouring or texturing day. A minimum of two students each day is needed for the course to run, with a maximum of four.The colouring day will cover the use of paints and stains and covers many different application methods and techniques. You’ll learn how to use airbrushes with stencils, templates and masking to create a variety of decorative patterns and effects. A range of techniques using acrylic paints will be covered, including some centrifugal colouring effects. The afternoon session will allow you time to complete an individual project using any of the techniques learnt in the morning.The texturing day will introduce you to a range of texturing tools, including texturing wheels, angle-grinders, rotary tools and the router. Use rasps and carbide-tipped cutting wheels on Proxxon long-neck mini grinders. See what you can achieve with a rotary tool including a Dremel and micro-drills. After learning these techniques, you’ll combine colour and texture, before completing your individual project in the final session of the day.All wood, tools, equipment and finishes are provided – just bring your smock and stout footwear. What a fantastic couple of days. Turning, Spray painting, decorative finishes. All equipment was supplied, including paints, protective gear, stencils etc we all past our course with shining colours by learning how to stip down maintain and clean up our spray pens.
