Vicmarc grinding complete station

I have now had this system for several months now and I think it’s fantastic. I will admit it did take me a while to set the grinding angles to suit my own . I made up some simple jigs to assist me in the beginning this took me half an hour or so to complete. From their I experimented with the Vicmarc recommendations in the instructions I now don’t use jigs to set angles and have adapted to using the angles on the Vicmarc jigs. I prefer nice round nosed gouges as to more pointed ones preferred by some and on this system the profiles I get are brilliant. Having the two wheels side by side is absolutely brilliant until I’d used the system for a while I didn’t realise how really useful this is to be able to regrind and sharpen without moving any jigs and very accurate. I have to admit I was a wet stone grinder fan but having used this system for a while now the grind of the smooth wheel is really not much different from the wet stone grinder . This system for me has got to be the ultimate it’s compact with not much messy grinding dust very robust and quiet. It’s very easy to use and the results are fantastic. The one down side is the cost but do bear in mind this is a complete system with no added extras needed that is built to last which would make this system a once in a lifetime buy . I forgot to mention you also have the advantage of using the side of the wheels if you want to flat grind anything . In a word awesome
